Enrolment and trainee membership with the Faculty of Public HealthAll Public Health trainees are required to enrol with the Faculty within three months of starting their training, in order for your training to be recognised. The enrolment process enables FPH to oversee and monitor the progress of trainees throughout their training and maintain national standards of training by ensuring the excellence of the training provided in programmes.
Without enrolment you will not
be able to sit the PartA and PartB MFPH examinations.
Furthermore, without enrolment you cannot be recommended for
entry on the GMC specialist register or UK Public Health
Register.
It is important to note that enrolment is different from Faculty membership. Trainee membership is open to any specialist registrar (SpR), specialist trainee (SpT) or specialty registrar (StR) undertaking an approved course of training in public health (medicine). Trainee membership of the Faculty brings certain privileges. For example, trainee members can pay PartA and PartB MFPH examination fees by interest-free instalments and can pay the fee for the Faculty's annual conference by post-dated cheque. Trainees are also eligible for a four year subscription package, which has financial benefits. When looking at membership it is recommended that you look at all the options available so that you are able to make an informed decision on what is best for you. It is worth noting that trainees enrolling with the Faculty will automatically be considered for election to trainee membership. Once their election has been approved by the Faculty Board, further details will be sent by the Membership Admissions Administrator. There is no need to send a separate application. If you have enrolled with the Faculty
and have not received an information pack offering you trainee
membership you should contact the Membership Admissions Administrator –
membership@fph.org.uk The Faculty of Public Health website provides a wealth of information and orientating yourself around it is well recommended. |
